Under Putrajaya bridges

My recent escape to Kuala Lumpur culminated in Putrajaya, the planned governmental city of Malaysia. Convienently accessible from the Airport express train it is a perfect stop before your flight and a must if you want to see some remarkable bridges..

It is possible to rent bicycles at Perbadanan Putrajaya Kompleks and so we did. Staff was very helpful and unusual request to rent bicycles required some inflation of tires. The mountain bikes were missing maintenance probably for the last 10 years, but somehow we managed to circle the two fancy bridges just in one hour and return the bikes just before office closure at 5pm.
As all of the Putrajaya was designed and constructed by local companies, there is very little information about the bridges available in the Internet, at least in english. Wikipedia has some basic facts, but nothing about the authors. And this time I hold my critics and leave you with photos, enjoy.

Jambatan Seri Saujana bridge

Jambatan Seri Wawasan bridge

Apart from few estonians there were no cyclists at day time in Putrajaya. Night time was different.

The monorail bridge is not completed ..

.. and is waiting to be connected to the railway station.

Finally we were having some soft shell grabs at Putrajaya Seafood restaurant at Taman Botani (botanic garden) with magnificient view to Jambatan Seri Perdana bridge.

Several bridges were left unsighted this time, a good reason for another escape :)

Monument võsas Üks põhilisi aruteluteemasid Reidi tänava (mitte enam tee!) puhul on olnud jalakäijate juurdepääs Russalkale Kadrioru pargi suunalt.

Puhkuse pildid 2015

Sai pisut klõpsutatud, nüüd on sillapildid sõkaldest eraldatud.
Esimesena jäi pildile Mustvee sild, mida ehitajad parasjagu viimistlesid.

Tegemist on täiesti uue integraalse sillaga. Konsoolsed kaldaavad mahutavad kallasrada.

Silla tekiplaat on õnnestunud kuju ja mõõtmetega. Sambad on ebaproportsionaalselt jämedad ja jäigad. Kaks posti on ka üleliigsed.

Järgmine "veretu jahi" saak Alatskivilt. Kuniks Maanteeamet vaidleb asjaosalistega, peavad inimesed liikuma maantee servas. Vaielda võite ka kümme aastat, ühe kuuga oleks kasvõi truubi toru võinud siia panna. Keevitage kasvõi torupiiretest!

Vahelduseks paadisild Annimatsilt. Ajatu.
Tarvastus on rohkem kui üks sild, millel üleliia palju praktilist väärtust ei paista olema. Kuniks püsivad, on ju kena vaadata ja pildistada ka läbivajunud silda.

Viljandi rippsilda on keeruline kaadrisse püüda, lossimäed on metsa kasvanud.
Raplas on ühed Eesti toekaimad sillad. vana võlvsild sai hiljuti endale raudbetoonist tugevduse, mida silla …

Under Al Reem bridges

Al Reem Island is a new development area east of Abu Dhabi Island where most of the infrastructure and roads are in place since 2012. Many of the buildings are growing here and there already shaping the silhouette of the new highrise city.
Having lived around for more than a year I have many times thought to take a hike under Al Reem bridges. Now there were some compellling reasons to do so including the perfect weather.
The master plan of the northern part of the island (also known as Al Shams) has several channels bridged by the main road network.

There are countless of bridges ready for action. It is still a good chance to meet some desert foxes roaming around during late evenings.
The idea of the master plan is to separate people from cars. Even with the best transit system in place the highrise city will generate a lot of car traffic even more in a place where temperature can reach 50 celsius. So for those who don't like cars there is a good opportunity to walk or cycle alon…
